Commissioned portraits are always exciting, intriguing and hard...It´s such a challenge to capture somebody's loved one, while still keeping it loose and dynamic. It is also important for me that I stay true to myself throughout the process and not get too obsessed with nailing the likeness of my subject. Such a balancing act...and for me it is a test in patience and focus. I just finished a pretty large oil of two beautiful little girls - sisters. It is not yet delivered, which I why I´m not showing the full picture, and I can´t wait for their mom and dad to see it! I feel that I managed to capture the liveliness and cute personalities of both of them, and finally in the end - they started to "come through the canvas". That´s when a painting is done :) I will upload the full picture after X-mas, when it´s been unwrapped and hung at the Linde´s house! Merry X-mas everyone!
